A Class 12 student, who was injured in a fight in Delhi’s Bhajanpura area, died on Saturday, eight days later. It is being told that after an argument over some issue outside the school, another student along with his friends beat up the student, due to which he was injured.
According to the information, Jitendra (54), living in street number-4 in Bhajanpura area, does a private job. They have two children, a daughter and a son, whose age is 17 years. His son was studying in class 12th in Jan Kalyan School, Bhajanpura. On December 15, while returning from school, his son had a fight with a school boy and some other people at Street No. 20, D Block, Bhajanpura.
During this time he suffered injuries on his head and face. No MLC was formed and the matter was resolved by both the parties after the intervention of some elders. The injured boy took first aid from a nearby clinic and went home. Eight days later, on December 23, in the morning, the victim student’s health started deteriorating and he became unconscious. He was taken to GTB Hospital, from where doctors referred him to RML Hospital. After receiving information about the assault from GTB Hospital, a case of assault was immediately registered on the complaint of the victim’s father.
After this, on the night of 23rd December itself, information was received from RML Hospital that the victim had died during treatment in the hospital. Police say that there was an argument between the two school boys outside the school on December 12. On 15 December, the school boy and others attacked and assaulted the victim at around 5:00 pm after school. The sequence of events and the exact cause of death are being ascertained. Further investigation is ongoing in the matter.
